Little by Little
Idyllwild, CA after months of being sick with Mono
Little by little I grow into me
The person I always wanted to know
Down the river, my body a boat
For lungs agape, the rhythm of sea
Little by little I know how you work
You time ticking bomb, you keeper of hope
Stop by for a while if only to say:
“As a matter of fact I’ll be dead one day”
Time after time I stumble on blades
Of grass as green as the night is black
Out of the bush come a wild attack
Of that thing I needed to give away
In the end it’s all the same
To choose the plane or the submarine
Watch me fly, black wings above the road
All the while re-writing the code
