Glistening Waters

Sometimes there’s a heaviness in my chest

A cavernous well hopeful

With glistening waters down below

Emotions I never understand

Thoughts weighing nigh tons

Over a crowded place of people talking it out

Lost highways in far away lands

I know I’ll never ride

In these glistening waters I lay

In earth’s chalice, cradled without sight

Is it a sickness, I wonder?
